How BlueLight Commercial tripled its user base and scaled training across 43 police forces with Hubken LMS

BlueLight Commercial, established in 2020 by the Home Office, works in collaboration with blue light organisations to improve commercial procurement capability across the UK public sector. By driving better procurement practices, the organisation helps deliver cost savings, time efficiencies, and more sustainable outcomes across policing and emergency services.

To support its growing learning needs, BlueLight Commercial undertook a migration of its learning platform to Hubken LMS, seeking a more responsive partner and a stronger long-term support model.

  • Competency & Development: Utilising advanced performance functionality, the LMS enables employees to actively self-assess their skills against competency frameworks and build structured Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Collaborative Workspaces: To increase user engagement, the system heavily utilises forums and workspaces, creating a centralised hub where members can easily find and share best practices regarding complex procurement issues.
  • Fully Managed Infrastructure: Hubken completely removed the technical burden from the small in-house team by providing secure hosting, automated software upgrades, and unlimited technical support, getting involved in the “heavy lifting” whenever needed.
